Pei-Luen (Patrick) Rau

Pei-Luen (Patrick) Rau is a professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering and vice dean of Global Innovation eXchange (GIX) Institute at Tsinghua University. His research areas include human computer interaction, human robot interaction, cross-cultural design, design for older people, and game study. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University and MS/Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University. He has been teaching at Department of Industrial Engineering in Tsinghua University since 2002. He is the former director of the Institute of Human Factors and Ergonomics and principal at the IT Usability Lab. Professor Rau oversees the academic program and student affairs for the dual degree program at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
