Trond is a researcher, entrepreneur, and community organizer focused on XR technologies and game design with applications in health and education. He began his academic career research into table-top AR interfaces for command and control systems in New Zealand before moving to the US in 2008 to begin a PhD at UW applying 3D visualization and AI to human anatomy education. Since then, he has worked on XR workspaces, VR-based therapies for pain, stress, and anxiety, and remote collaboration tools for creativity and corporate innovation.

Alongside his professional work, Trond helped found the Seattle XR community, through which he has he has organized hackathons, unconferences, and meetups. Beyond technology, Trond has interests in food science, gardening, and the design of large-scale in-person games.
