Yue Tu

Yue Tu is a lecturer at the University of Washington’s Global Innovation Exchange (GIX), where he teaches "From Prototype to Pilot" in the MS in Technology Innovation program. He brings more than 15 years of experience at the intersection of energy systems, digital infrastructure, and emerging technologies, including leadership roles at Vantage Data Centers and Microsoft.

Yue has led multi‑gigawatt global energy strategy, advanced grid interconnection and utility engagement, and driven commercialization of next‑generation power and storage technologies for hyperscale data centers. His work has spanned renewable energy procurement, microgrid design, international market development, and strategic partnerships across utilities, developers, and technology innovators.

At GIX, Yue focuses on helping students evaluate early-stage technologies, understand buyer behavior, design credible pilot projects, and build evidence‑based pathways to product-market fit. He holds an MBA from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington and a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley.
