Problem

75% of careers are derailed for reasons related to emotional competencies, including the inability to handle interpersonal problems, adapt to change, and elicit trust. Without emotional awareness, the ability to receive others’ emotions, people often have difficulty finding work and performing their jobs.

Approach

The team tested their prototype with test participants to learn how users interact with the product and how it can be improved.

Solution

The team leveraged Vuzix's smart glasses platform to create a system that can collect face images and audio data to determine facial expressions and speech content. This data is sent to the cloud where it is analyzed using a multi-factor sentiment machine learning model, the results of this are expressed to the user with haptic and visual feedback through the glasses.
