Coursework Overview
To earn your Master of Science in Technology Innovation you need to complete 60 graduate credits, including a launch project. All courses are required, however in some cases there may be limited opportunities to exchange courses for electives.

The MSTI degree is offered by a group of leading UW faculty from the following UW departments and schools, in partnership with the Global Innovation Exchange:
- Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering
- Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering
- Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering
- Foster School of Business
- School of Law
Launch Project
During the final six months of the program, students join teams focused on tackling a problem or challenge proposed by a GIX Consortium member, faculty member, or fellow student. Projects differ from year to year depending on project sponsors, and typically span a broad array of disciplines and technologies, typically requiring both hardware/software development and design, and providing the opportunity for business development.
Launch Project Timeline
Autumn & Winter
Learn the essentials of entrepreneurship and working effectively in teams.
Spring
Participate in launch kickoff, design thinking workshops, and project definition meetings.
Summer & Autumn
Complete project work and attend regular meetings with project sponsors.
Graduation
Present projects to Consortium members and at an open house for industry partners and friends.
